This artwork was created as part of a project to explore embroidery as an act of expression, exploring the depth of our textile artists’ minds through free stitching, using Japanese techniques “sashiko” (meaning ‘little stabs’) and “boro” (derived from the term ‘boroboro’, meaning repaired). This project was conceived and guided by textile artist Sara Kelly.
